For FGR's Things You May Not Know About Me

So here the story goes. Fall of 2008 was great. I spent alot of time learning about Flickr, and that is when I discovered the Flickr Group Roulette. It was a fun place, with lots of regulars. People that would pop in, each one a unique and fun character. I posted crazy pictures, lots more naked then I am above. Lots of comments were exchanged, contacts were created, it was fun.

Then FGR changed a bit. I think they started running out of ideas. There were tons of good groups to use at first, but then repeats happened and everyone took it less seriously. The group would be something like "Cats!", and people would post a picture of their living room with a sleeping cat consuming 1/100th of the picture where the original idea had been a picture of a Christmas tree. Stuff like that.

Post pages used to go to multiple pages as well. Not anymore it seems.

But I still like it. It's a great place to be inspired.

Those contacts I made, most are gone or very inactive. Which happens in life, and is directly linked to attitudes about Flickr in general. People find it, post pictures, get positive feedback, and it's addicting. You go to work, spend 5 hours on work things, 3 hours on Flickr. Then 5 more when you get home. You just have to disconnect.

My things you may not know about me.

Thing #1: I'm 26 years old, I've been married for 7 years, and we are expecting our first child this Summer! We really only tried to have a baby one other time a few years back, that lasted 3-4 weeks, and we just gave up. I'm super excited, and my photostream will likely turn to a majority of baby photos.

Thing #2: I took a nude photo a week almost every Wednesday last year for a friends Flickr group. It was fun and educational. The last two months I quit on it, but I got well over 30 photos. If your my contact, and your family, you can see them all. When I add a contact, if I don't know them, I don't mark them as family. But if the contact has racer things in their photostream, I do mark them as family. And I haven't offended anyone yet.

Thing #3: So this photo is me. I miss how it used to be, lots of contacts commenting back and forth. But that's ok, I've moved on a bit myself. I don't take FGR photos 4-5 times a week like I was doing. Now it's like once a month or more. I actually am encouraged to post a photo to FGR in hopes that I'll gain a contact or two.

Thing #4: I did a 365 last year and only missed 13 photos. I was quite proud. I'm doing another one this year. I spend so much time taking photos of myself that I feel that I'm starting to not be so good at taking photos of other things.

Thing #5: I usually don't write this much under a photo!
