Respect the Person

I have been quite disappointed at the common sentiment of people who are clearly wrong but still wish to find reasons to support their arguments. These same people will put down people who disagree with them. The reasons are most often a stretching of the truth. They will claim they have done their "research" but never show their work or sources of research. Oh, I read it in a book. I read it online.

Don't be mean to people. Throughout the pandemic and the political theater of the past few years, I've had my opinions and I've known the facts. But not once have I ever said to someone that their point of view or belief was incorrect. You have every right to believe what you believe. But I will say that it is wrong to slander, make fun of, or put down anyone who disagrees with you.

To avoid doing the same myself, I am going to place some information here and allow people to make their own informed decisions. Two major topics that arise are vaccine passports and the use of fetal stem cells in the manufacturing process of particular vaccines, notable the Covid-19 RNA vaccine.

First with the passports. A primary argument is that the use of said passports is synonymous with the actions of those involved in the Holocaust during World War II. It goes further as people will boycott particular companies involved. One example is IBM, which manufactured computers that were utilized to advance the coming of the holocaust.

Fact: IBM was only one of several companies involved. If you are someone to stand and boycott a company involved with the holocaust, you would have to boycott a lot of things in your life. The Standard Oil Company in Cleveland, Ohio, provided fuel for the Nazi U-Boats. That company was later split into several other companies, such as BP, ExxonMobil, Chevron, and Marathon. Hugo Boss, Bayer, Coca-Cola, Chase National Bank, and Nestle all were involved in one way or another. Ford Germany, which was directly linked to the Ford Motor Company, produced parts and turbines that were used in the cause.

Fact: You need a driver's license to drive. You need to show proof of age to purchase alcohol or tobacco products in the United States. You need to show proof of several types of vaccination to enroll in public school (with some religious exemptions). There isn't a religious exemption for the first two. Showing your papers is often used as a scare tactic for people that are arguing against the vaccine passports. However, you already have to show identification to participate in a lot of activities, and some of them are federally regulated on a national level.

Fact: If you consume or possess alcohol as a minor, you can be punished with 30 days of jail in Illinois. If you possess it on public property, you can be jailed for 6 months. You are required to show your papers (proof of ID) in day-to-day life in the United States.

Fact: Ahnenpass was about showing proof of your government documented race. You did not have control of your race, but you can control if you were vaccinated. Vaccinated humans come in all shapes, sizes, genders, and races. A venue typically wants proof of vaccination to ensure the safety of others, not because they want to exclude a type of human from the activity.

Second, let's talk quickly about aborted fetal stem cells. This argument comes up often and it is used as a scare tactic to get people to abandon a product because of its stem cell content. Most often, the material falsely says that the end product contains actual aborted fetal stem cells. There is certainly a line in the sand between someone consuming actual stem cells and consuming something that was developed with help from stem cells. The help is typically a testing process that uses cells from a particular stem cell line. These lines can be decades old, having been taken from an aborted fetus decades ago and made to continually reproduce in a lab for use later.

Fact: Aborted fetal stem cells are used in the "testing" of the Covid-19 vaccine, but also in other vaccines that you most likely have received, and for other things in your life. These cells were collected decades ago and are used in several types of research. One of them is for flavoring. And not to create a flavor, but rather to see how these cells, in this case, liver cells, respond to each flavor. Several companies backed away from this controversial usage, including Pepsi, but others did not. There are no known fetal stem cells in any product that enters your body. Much like most of the vegetables you eat today are huge due to genetic engineering, much of the things in your life today, you owe to advancements in science.
