This is my late Grandfathers camera. I believe it was used to take photos of me as a child, but I'm not 100% sure. Apparently he bought it new, and these were new a few years before I was born.
My grandfather loved to travel, and was a huge photo slide user. During reunions we would be asked/made to site and view the slides from his past. His kids/family, hunting photos, one after another, you would view them all. Now, I realize the value of this, but back then, I was super bored.
The camera came to me shortly after his death this past November. He was 87 years old, and quite ready to accept his death. His mind was slipping, and he knew it. He said that it was no way to live. He was just existing.
I'm the only one that I know of in the family that shoots Nikon, and my request for the camera was quickly fulfilled.
About Project 2011.52
[Project 2011.52 is a personal photography/writing project that I want to attempt this year. The rules are this: Each week in 2011 (Starting Jan 02-Jan 08) I take the time to take one photo of an important person or thing in my life, to write at least 2 paragraphs about it, and to record a short video during the week.]
