Earthquaked

Today I experienced my first earthquake sensation. It was the aftershocks of a 5.8 shake located in the state of Virginia. When I was sitting at my desk, it started to sway a bit. My old desk at my old job used to do that as the local train went by. However, I'm on the 2nd story downtown and there are no trains. So after the notion of the train had passed, I checked to see if any of my desk partners (I sit in a 120 degree spot with two other people) were shaking the desk. While looking around I noticed that the walls were also moving, again reinforcing the train theory.

I've been working in this building for months though, so I was sure it wasn't a train. I stood up and questioned "Earthquake?", as other people were catching on. The Saks building next door is all gold reflective glass on our side and you could see the panels of glass shaking.

It was a neat sensation. It was light shaking, nothing really was in danger of falling around my area. It lasted about 20-30 seconds and then was over. I'm thankful it was not much worse as I work in a 25 story building that is 101 years old.
