Afterwards, I noticed the St. Vincent DePaul store was open across the street. Inside there was an entire box of cameras to go through. I came out with 6 of them. So that night I gained, for $24.50:
- Kodak Instamatic 104 (My 3rd one)
- Kodak Tele Challenger (Disc Camera)
- Kodak Advantix 2100 Auto
- Kodak Camera35 KB18
- Kodak S series S100 EF
- Kodak VR35 K12
- Canon Camera Bag including
- Canon T70
- Canon 50mm 1.8 FD lens
- Vivitar Auto Thyristor 283 Flash
- Tons of filters 52/55 + 52-55 adapter
Sunday we visited the Tour-Ed Fleatique. There were tons of cameras to be seen. I first spotted a Kodak Brownie 8MM Movie Camera for $5, but decided to wait. I then saw a Instamatic X35 for $3, but again I waited. I then found a person selling a Kodamatic camera in the original box for a $1, sold immediatly to me of course.
I then met a guy selling a movie camera box. There was a different brand super 8 camera inside, + lights, +4 boxes of film. He asked $100 for it, then $75. I do laugh on the inside at these people, who think that these cameras are worth so much because they cost so much in the past. Super 8 movie making is quite dead at the moment, and I would have offered $5 for the entire box at the most. I asked about the unopened film boxes and he said $2 a piece. So I moved on.
I picked up a Tele Instamatic 608 for 50 cents. I then spotted another Kodak Brownie Camera that looked like it has been through hell. He said $2, and I thought it over. He then offered free, so away I went with it. After cleaning it up at home tonight, I do believe I have got a deal.
I found a Polaroid 230 Land Camera and showed some interest in it. The guy said $2 for it. It was in near immaculate condition, and included a boxed Portrait Kit, so I bought it no questions asked.
I passed a guy selling 2 Nikon lenses for $60. They were old and I did not think he knew what he had. I don't think they were worth $60. Maybe $20.
The last cameras I saw were in a small box of cameras. There was a Baby Brownie listed at $8, a Disc 6100 listed at $10, and another cheap old kodak for $15. Again discouraged at being able to pull a Kodak Challenger for 75 cents a few days back, I thought it over and moved on. As we were leaving I asked her what the best she could do on them. She said $10 for both. I then singled out the Brownie and she said $5. Sold. I left the $10 disc camera behind (technically I had it down to $5). Before I left I purchased two rolls of the unopened kodak super 8 film for $4 total.
Rachel and I headed to the Goodwill in Natrona Heights after that. I went to the electronics section and checked over the cameras there. I found an Advantix F350 and another Cameo EX. Together they were $2. The Cameo EX was an Olympic Games edition from Atlanta, with an Olympic themed zipper on the case as well. This is why I now have two Cameo EXs, as this one is different.
I personally went to the Goodwill in Cheswick to finish up the day, and they had $15 cameras on their shelves. The two kodaks were repeats from Friday, a S100 EF and another K12 (which was a $200 camera when it first came out).
